Project Description. A top priority project for St. Mary's School for school year 2005, the Computer and Related Equipment project calls for funding support towards the purchase of 16 to 18 net-work ready computers. Dr. Dennis Faustino, the incoming SMS principal and Engr. Rufino Bomasang, the SMSSI Chairman of the Board are appealing to alumni and friends to make this a top priority in their SMSS funding support or fund-raising involvement for year 2005. As provided for in the 5-Year Development Plan, SMS students will be trained in the use of computers (and the internet) as a tool for literacy in consonance with its mandate of making the school a source of good quality education. The computer laboratory has just been finished according to schedule [thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends] and is now ready to be equipped with 16 to 18 computers in time for the opening of the 2005-2006 school year in June. A retired computer expert from the
University of Cincinnati, Mr. Kent Sinkey, who
have been helping St. James School Besao, the Sagada National High School
and St. Mary's School on computer related projects has volunteered his computer
consultancy services to the three schools. So to prospective donors of computers
to SMS, rest assured that your computer donations will be educationally maximized by St. Mary's School
Students. To have an idea of what can be expected from Mr. Kent Sinkey click on:
