| Computer Laboratory is
already finished. The construction /
renovation works consisted of [among others]: the installation of computer
and power cables, computer desks and chairs, whiteboards and bulletin
boards. The computer laboratory still needs
to be equipped with its planned capacity of 18 PCs, properly networked for
instructional purposes, which may be later connected to the library for
Internet access.
A computer funding campaign, initiated by SMSSI
President Rufino Bomasang, is already underway to
generate the needed amount to buy the 18 computers. This include the
creation of a SMSSAFF computer funding assistance committee headed by
Raymond Alipit and a Fund raising Golf Tournament in Metro Manila being
organized by Engr. Rufino Bomasang
As of to date [May 10, 2005] the computer funding
campaign has already generated the following:
- The cost of one computer [$750.00] from
Josephine Alipit
- Two hundred dollars [$200.00] from Caesar Castro
- One hundred dollars [$100.00] solicited by
Josephine Alipit from friends
- Two hundred dollars [$200.00] for the
sponsorship of one half the total cost of one golf hole sponsorship from
Nellie Abeya Pit-og;
- Four golf hole sponsorship, courtesy of Raymond
and Glory Alipit and their classmates/friends/associates/fraternity
brothers.
- One golf hole sponsorship by SMS alumni and
friends golfers in the East Coast United States.
- Unspecified amount in support of the fund
raising golf tournament from D M Consunji, Inc
solicited by SMSSI President Engr. Rufino Bomasang.
