INTRODUCTION Unless millionaire philanthropists willing to shoulder the cost of transforming St. Mary' School, Sagada into a source of quality education as envisioned in the 5-Year Development Plan will miraculously appear, said task might have to be undertaken by a well-meaning-mixture of mostly below-average, average and above-average earning individuals. So, it seems the options to us alumni and friends of SMS, Sagada are:
Which option to follow? We live within set standard norms of conduct under a democratic society, where everyone is entitled to follow and be responsible to whatever his or her actions are. For those who opt to follow option #1, we wish you all the best in prayer. We believe in the power of prayer. Prayer can, indeed, produce miracles. Please include Maltreb Aslagal in your intercessions- that may he win the mega million lottery so as to be able to shoulder most, if not all, of the cost of the SMSS 5-Year Development Plan. In no way shall we take prayer lightly. For those who opt to follow option #2 and #3, it is respectfully recommended that we organize ourselves into working committees such as those recommended during the March 5 SMSSAFF meeting in the St. Luke and All Saints' Church in Union New Jersey. These recommended working committees are presented below. At this juncture, I would like to reiterate what I have been saying to many of you before, that I will only be encouraged to continue to help lead the save SMS initiative if we can work as a team. The team I have envisioned is precisely this set of committees which I believe, if staffed with committed and dedicated volunteers, can help transform SMS into the quality school we all like it to be. It is a daunting task and it can not be done by 2, 3, or more non-millionaire individuals. Our best hope is a team effort by as many average, below-average-, above-average earning individuals as we can involve. So far the initial response from SMS alumni and friends is encouraging particularly in the "Sponsor A Student Funding Assistance Committee". I fervently hope and pray that this can also be demonstrated in the other committees. Thank you. Lambert Sagalla RECOMMENDED COMMITTEES DURING THE
MARCH 5, 2005 SMSSAFF MEETING IN THE ST. LUKE AND ALL SAINTS' CHURCH, Please click on a committee hyperlink below to read about a committee's tasks, it's chairman and members. Then indicate your committee preferences in the "Committee Involvement Form" You might find your name already nominated / suggested to one or more committees, but please do not get agitated. These will all be adjusted in accordance with your answers in the "Committee Involvement Form". The nominated/suggested names are only an attempt to help committee chairs accelerate SMSSAFF committee formations. By the way, we opt to believe in the "SAYING" that: SILENCE MEANS YES. So please let your wishes be heard in the "Committee Involvement Form" or we will interpret your silence as tacit approval on the committee preferences suggested for you.
